I’m a very easy going, polite person. I was raised to respect all people,
no matter what they are or what they look like. I do however dislike dis-
respectful people who are rude or abusive, especially toward women. I am
highly spiritual. My main hobby is singing traditional Native American
music. I also write and sing songs. I love to work with wood and build
things, i.e. bed frames, dressers, variety. I love to cook, especially
for people. My mom taught me the traditional dishes of my people. My main
interest towards the future is to teach young people our Native songs and
language and also to own my own restaurant. And I want to speak at schools
about the trials of prison life so that I may be able to help. Just 1 person
change their thinking.

About what kind of pen pal I would like: I leave that part pretty open.
Only one thing is ask is only female responses. Well, one exception to males,
if they keep it purely professional and want to know about spiritual issues,
that’s cool. Otherwise I would only like to have a female pen pal to be able
to talk to and share personal thoughts, feelings and ambitions with. I don’t
have any friends who are lean and sober so please, take this into consideration.
I don’t have a problem with a person who drinks or do drugs. Only know that I
have a problem of my own with alcohol so I don’t really want anything to do
with it. oh yeah, if you send a picture, I’ll draw a portrait for you.

Release date: 22 - 35 yr.sentence

I am 28 yr. old. I, along with many others, feel that I have suffered
injustice at the hands of the legal system. My people have spoke with
many, many attorneys in regards to my case & they've all stated that
the sentence I received could be constituted as cruel & unusual punish-
ment considering a comparison between the sentence that I received &
sentences received by others charged & convicted of the same or similar
crimes. I feel I have been discriminated against in a big way...not only
myself but other Native Americans within Roberts County, state or nation
wide. There are also many discrepancies in my case. #1 being that they
arrested the wrong person. Case of mistaken identity? Being at the wrong
place at the wrong time? There are many things that I could go over. I
am in the process of appealing my case. My goal is to make a prime example
of myself in hopes to make a difference in this community. I have 2 little
boys out there that are my motivation...along with the rest of my family.
I contribute to my legal defense fund by way of beadwork & artwork. Both
of which have the option to purchase. My family has recently had fundrais-
ers & raffles & such to help with costs. I am working towards the fee that
is needed to retain the attorney we have found to represent me in my appeal.

Any response will be greatly appreciated.

I would like to write to someone who is a lot like me. Someone who is inte-
